I ultimately called the customer service number and had them manually enter my EIN. That worked.   But we also think we found another workaround. Even though I entered my EIN when I opened the account, it was not showing up when I clicked Profile > Profile and Settings. At the very bottom of the "profile and settings" page, there is a place to enter your EIN. Ours simply showed all X's. As soon as the customer service person manually entered our EIN, that field populated. I have a feeling that I could have done that same thing from the profile and settings page. ... View more

We are having this same problem. In order to receive non-profit rates, you must verify EIN and provide proof of bank account. But the EIN screen does not allow for the inputting of numbers, and therefore EIN can't be verified. This is clearly a website formatting issue. I've also tried using multiple browsers with no success. At this point, it's basically impossible to verify tax exempt status online. Please fix immediately. This problem effectively renders paypal useless to non-profits, lest they voluntarily pay the higher fee.  ... View more
