When a person dies there will be an automatic trigger to prevent unlawful use of the deceased person's funds. You haven't disclosed sufficient details about the accounts. Your personal PayPal and banking accounts should not be impacted by the death as long as the accounts are in your name ONLY. The bank will automatically lock the account of a deceased person until the estate of the deceased goes through the probate process to pass control to the administrator of the estate. So, if this PayPal account was linked to the bank account of the deceased, then PayPal would no longer have access to that account. If that is not the case for you, then please provide details. Life insurance proceeds should be relatively easy as a death certificate may be all that is needed for those funds.
