What were the specific details of the invoice? Text? Charge? Were there any threats in the invoice? Does your friend know this other party? Nothing that follows is intended as legagal advice, just items for consideration. Now consider that in invoice is just a REQUEST for payment for some service or good. There is no PayPal requirement that the recipient of the invoice pay the invoice. I believe the recipient of the invoice an also cancel the invoice. Did the sender of the invoice followed recognized notice of intellectual property infringement? Whatever is done, a copy of the invoice should be retained in case of need for legal reasons.
