to clarify my preceding post: as i understand it, a few months ago in the usa, synchrony bank took over paypal and decided to rob all americans of their paypal rewards points. they did it very easily. when the user clicks on the paypal mastercard link in their account, they now get redirected to a synchrony website which ostensibly shows "rewards/offers" but in the sub-menu only shows offers, NO rewards. clicking on "offers" merely recites the mantra "3x points for blah blah blah, 2x points for whoop-de-doo, 1x points for you lose". no links ANYWHERE on paypal or synchrony for actually redeeming rewards points, or even seeing how many you have accumulated (although you can see them in your last monthly paypal mastercard statement) every time you call customer support, you get an agent in India, where they do not suffer from the synchrony bank takeover (yet!). they are flabbergasted and otherwise INCREDULOUS (filled with disbelief and denial) when, after you break the language barrier, your hoarse dying voice tries to inform them that there is not a link to redeem rewards points anywhere! and no, they are not empowered to redeem them for you, of course. one agent said there is a phone number to discuss gift cards, but not cash back. figures. not good, paypal/synchrony bank in the us of a!!!not good at all 😞 booooooooo! class action lawsuit, any lawyers present? hehe 😄
