So I signed up to PayPal a few weeks ago and as Im quite private person I used my email as my username and through speaking to someone at PayPal the other day on a completely unrelated noted I was advised to change it to my real name which even though I was, and still am, reluctant to do I would do so. i followed the instructions and uploaded a copy of my drivers license and various utility bills to prove I am who I am and after speaking to someone less than half an hour again I was told they wouldn't accept the change in name even though I followed word for word what is typed on the instruction page. i was basically told that the only way I could do it was to open up a new account and transfer the funds from the account I have now into the new one but then I'd have to wait for up to 90 days to have access to them which isn't on. how are we supposed to work with PayPal who set the rules etc but don't actually follow them themselves? now I realise that technically this wouldn't or shouldn't be a problem however I'm currently battling through pages and pages of legal stuff due to being a victim of identity theft (hence why I'm not inclined to give out names and such online) so I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible and the bank account I have connected is actually my mothers (she knows, it was her idea and she gave permission) yet the guy I spoke to said that it's not a problem and a few people do this. currently waiting for someone to call me back from PayPal but I'm not holding my breath, what's the point in them having rules and regs when they don't even acknowledge them themselves.
