Sold a car on Ebay and got a $500 deposit through Paypal. Buyer asks if he can use Paypal Friends and Family to pay the balance either when he picks it up or I deliver it 1,000 miles away. Since it's a face to face transaction, I assume he isn't worried that he won't get the car. But my worry is what if it's paid out of a hacked or stolen account? ... View more

On a payment I made to a small independent seller yesterday, it does show the title of the listing I bought and item number below PURCHASE DETAILS. But on a payment I made last week to a large corporate seller, it doesn't say anything under PURCHASE DETAILS except the amount, and under SELLER INFO, it says Ebay. Now I have to search through my Ebay purchases by dollar amount to match up the Paypal payment to the seller. Real brilliant.  ... View more

I sold an item with the choice of right or left clearly in the listing. The winning bidder paid right away but didn't say which one they wanted. Oddly, I got a message from Paypal saying, You have received a payment that we believe may not have been authorized by  the PayPal account holder. We recommend that you don’t ship the item until our investigation is complete. Paypal asked me a few questions and completed their "investigation" saying all was good. I've sent the buyer 2 meassages asking which side they want and got no replies.
