I don't want the email used for a PayPal account. I closed it for a reason. I want it to be erased from the ether. The email address hasn't been recycled. It is one of my main emails. ... View more

PayPal emailing me on another of my emails saying ...

I have another email that I formerly had associated with PayPal, but I deleted that account well over five years ago. Now I am getting emails from PayPal stating I just created a new account with that email and wanting me to create a password. It is not a spoofed email as I have checked the domain on WhoIs search. ... View more

Re: Unauthorized Activity?

My beef is the fact that PayPal is telling me that there was no unauthorized activity, which is a lie. A pending transaction from a fraudulent source, whether it goes through or not, is an "unauthorized" activity.   I'm about a minute from closing my PayPal account due to the lack of security and the implications that I will not be refunded for these fraudulent charges. Not to mention the time I was blatantly ripped off by an online retailer who took my payment, never sent me what I paid for, and PayPal siding with the Seller even after they admitted to them that they took my payment and never sent to product. I am still fuming over that one. ... View more

Unauthorized Activity?

This is my story. The other day, I received an email from PayPal showing a charge for $374.99 from a store in the UK that I'd never heard of. The customer listed on this email was a Russian and his full address was also listed and a purchase for some Versace merchandise was pending on my account.   I went to PayPal and immediately changed my password, which I doubt matters because you don't need a password to enter someone's email address at an online store. I saw the transaction listed there and tried to use the "Resolution" section and it told me I couldn't. This is ironic since I can actually dispute one of the hundreds of other charges that are actually legitimate purchases of mine, but not one that is fraud. There is no way to email PayPal so I had to wait until the next day and try to call them.   I am told over the phone that I have to wait to see if the pending charge goes through because they cannot do anything about it. After the money is removed from my bank, then they can "try" to get my money refunded which will take several weeks. I contacted the store in the UK and discover they are a really large chain over there and I finally got a response saying the transaction did not go through.   Today, PayPal has the nerve to email me and say they could not find any unauthorized transactions on my account. What kind of crap is this? I call an attempt from a random person halfway around the world to my account for $374.99 an unauthorized transaction. Only by my contacting the seller was it likely I got it prevented.   This is not the reaction I expect from a large institution when their security is breached. Before I can make any online purchase using PayPal, I am required to get a verification code sent via email or to my phone. There is no way this person could have done this so that transaction should never have gone as far as it did. I am seriously considering closing my account because of this and previous fraud incidents. I urge everyone to use caution with their account because PayPal is not attempting to secure accounts. ... Has anyone else noticed what a silly feature PayPal has on their account page where they give you a notification every time you login that says:   "You have no new notifications"    This in itself is a false statement because they just sent a notification that you don't have notifications.  ... I don't see how that is possible. How could someone use your PayPal account to order frauduently from Ebay? The PayPal must be linked to the same Ebay account and the shipping address. Even if someone ordered something, it would still go to their address.   I think the user is trying to scam. ... View more

This is happening to me right now. It is not the amount of yours but it is still money I am owed.   I sold a brand-new mouse on Ebay, shipped it, have the shipping proof and proof they received it in three days. Now they have my product but filed a dispute claiming it was an "unauthorized purchase". If this is the case, then why aren't they returning my merchandise? PayPal has taken back my money and it is ridiculous that it will take 30 days to find out about this. I have already submitted documentation to prove it so it should be instant.   Even if this was somehow unauthorized, like someone was able to steal someone's PayPal account and buy this, that is not my problem, it's the buyer's.   These scams are becoming epidemic on Ebay/PayPal. My son has had people buy items, then as soon as he leaves positve feedback, they issue a claim that he did not send them the correct item. It's a scam and you can't take back the feedback and you can't post negative feedback about a buyer, which is stupid. These people have 100% positive feedback due to this scam and you can do nothing about it. ... View more
