PayPal somehow disconnected or unlinked my bank account from my account. This started happening about a year or two ago. It happened several times to recently. I never changed any of my accounts as long as I've been a PayPal account holder. The only changes I've made were my address and phone numbers. When trying to add my checking account yet again, I get the following error message: "An unknown service error occurred". I've called the customer service several times about this and they tell me to wait about 48 hours to see a change. Well it's been about a week now, and no change. I've contacted my bank about this problem several times and they always said it's a problem on PayPal's side. I called customer support (who by the way is not in the U.S.) and demanded to speak to a manager or supervisor, preferably someone in the U.S. It's now 4:10pm EDST and I've been on hold for over 57 minutes! By the way guys, phone records don't lie! And I've not been connected with someone in the U.S. Now having waited as long as I have, I was finally connected with someone in the U.S. His name was Kerry and he's based in Arizona. I told him about the situation, and he was more than great in answering my questions, a few of which I kind of knew the answers to. And yes, PayPal made some changes to their customer service. Call centers are in places such as India, the Philippines, etc. So how come their call centers didn't answer my questions as thorough as he did?! He said that not all of the call centers have been trained! Really PayPal?! Kerry was great and understood my concerns, and we even discussed what's happening with PayPal's decision for North Carolina. And you can imagine the mouthful I gave him about that! He stated that they've been so busy today with phone calls about that, and he's gotten a mouthful from them as well! Finally, I think now is the time for me to drop PayPal like a hot potato! After all of these years I've been with PayPal, I can now let users know that PayPal has lost its business model and a valued customer.
