Appreciate the response, but i should have mentioned that i bank with westpac and they sent it via NPP fast payment system.  Paypal isnt a bank and doesnt have to pay for NPP fast payment functions. They have had instant transfer capability with their bank provider since 2018. Thanks for the attempted response but it doesnt address why Paypal are holding my money after receiving it from my bank. ... View more

I sent payment to merchant from verified linked bank account. I have had a paypal account since 2009 which also has been verified. After sending payment to merchant via paypal, the funds immediately came out of my bank account and sent to Paypal. The merchant was contacted who confirmed that my payment was not cleared on their. I contacted Paypal staff, provided proof from the bank that authorisation for withdrawal funds was cleared and debited out of my account and successfully received by Paypal. I also provided a reak-time screen shot of my banking balances. I noticed the "expected clearing time" had also reduced from the original 23/9/19 "expected clearing time" to an earlier 20/9/19 "expected clearing time" the day after i made the order and the transaction from the banks side went from "pending" to "posted" (completed) transaction. Paypal still shows my payment sent as "pending" despite the updated advice showing an earlier "expected clearing time"  following the banks "posted" status chnage to the transaction on their end.  Merchant still does not show funds i sent as cleared either. Paypal cant cancel the transaction and referred me to merchant for a refund. The merchant cant refund the transaction or give me my item i paid for becuase the funds are still showing uncleared. The bank cant stop the payment or reverse it because it had already left my account and considered as paid. So what the hell can i do to get Paypal to update the status of my payment so i can either get my money back or the item i paid for?  Below is a screenshot of paypals advice showing the update to clearing time and stating they cant' cancel payment. its now passed the close of business on 20/9/19 in AU and payment still not cleared. What can i do people? HELP ME PLEASE! I just want to pick up my item and cant understand why Paypal is witholding my money under "pending" for no good reason, even after my bank has already cleared funds, sent it to PAYPAL and sent the authorisation advice to Paypal aswell. WHY WHY WHY?   ... View more
