Protection depends on how the money was sent. What are the details of the transcation on your PayPal account. Here's what should have happened. You, the seller, prepares a PayPal invoice with ALL the item and sale details. You send the PayPal invoice the buyer's email. The buyer pays the PayPal invoice from a link on the email. The payment wil show on your PayPal activity list. Details will indicate whether it's OK to ship. If you don't have an invoice and item details directly associated with the transaction, it will be difficult to defend yourself if the buyer later claims it isn't the correct item.
