Hi txhp,   We're sorry to hear your buyer has this concern. Recurring payments do not have to be funded with PayPal balance. When making a payment that someone has preapproved, such as a subscription, we attempt to take the money from the PayPal balance first. If they don't have enough in their PayPal balance, we use their preferred payment method if they've set one up for the recurring payment. If the preferred payment method can't be billed (for example, the credit card expires) or has not been set up, we use the other payment methods in the PayPal account.   The buyer may wish to contact PayPal directly so we can assist them with their PayPal account.   Thanks!   -Leslie   If you see a helpful post, please accept it as a solution or give the author kudos. Thanks for the response. It's my store. The website is http://txhorseproperties.com. Agents can sign up for a membership package to add listings to the website. A new paying customer tried to sign up for a recurring package. Being new to PayPal, she had to sign up for an account to use her credit card, but the payment did not go through.   All my "live" tests have been done using my own test PayPal account and they have been based on there being a balance in the account, however on one test, the subscription cleaned out the balance and took the remainder from a credit card associated with the account.   So I am completely confused.
