If it was cancelled there is nothing to worry about. What I recommend is changing all passwords including: - Steam - Paypal - Email + any other accounts linked to these I also recommend scanning your computer for malware, spyware and keyloggers. May I suggest doing a full scan with a free program called HitmanPro 3.

PayPal will never ask you to go to a link in the email. And especially wont ask you too provide any login information or bank details. The most they would do in a situation like this is ask you to go to PayPal yourself and sort it out there. Never go to a link from a paypal email if it tells you too Thats when you know its a scam

You can imagine PayPal's situation oon this... well I will explain You can easily set up another account or use a friends account to send money too and create a good looking invoice for a hotel room in your situation for example. Once you send that money to the other account, you put it into your bank or something and remove cards from the account. PayPal can not retrieve it. They would then refund you and suddenly your double profitted. Its happened and they don't want to happen again. They will take a lot of measures before refunding on something like this Its a difficult situation.

You can imagine PayPal's situation on a comprimised account. It is different than a scam as it can be faked per say. Let me explain Say you had a friend in europe or even a VPN etc and created a new paypal account there. You attempt faking a account breach by changing email/password and stuff and then send money to that other account. That other account then has money from you. You then go to PayPal and say you were hacked and money was sent out. If it were the way everyone dreams of they would pay you your money back and sort the issue But on the other account you send the money elsewhere. Suddenly you doubled your money, PayPal loses money and nobody has a clue Its a difficult situation.
