This may bit be the correct forum, but sine it has to do with busines basics, I thought this was a good place... I ama business person and the bottom line is what left over after your COGS. The operative initial in that acronym is S. Shipping.... Situation: I sell goods on ebay... I ship using Paypal UPS shipping. When I purchase the shipping label a pending authorization shows up in the paypal account for the amount of shipping I was quoted during label creation. Then, that pending authorization converts to an actual paypal services transaction/payment. Now the roblem is that this UPS label purchase can be many many lines after the actual payment for goods received transaction. I know I could search through all the transactions looking to match the tracking number, (which is what paypal customer service told me to do) but come one.. seriously???? I tried to explain that this information is iportant becasue THEY AREN"T THE SAME AMOUNTS!!! The original authorization and the actual payment transaction are NOT THE SAME. I don't need an explanation as to WHY they are different I get that. Its freight.... What I need, is how to link that UPS shipping label....with the payment......with the sale. This is the COGS. This is the bottom line of our business. This is what's left over to pay other bills and pay taxes on and all the other good stuff!!! Paypal customer service said there was no way to do that, except manually, and that no one had ever asked that, and no one there would have more knowledge than she did about it. The whole reason this came up was that I downloaded my transaction data and it has 26 columns of data. And I am trying to find a way to connect those UPS transactions with the customer to it belongs. I just have a very hard tim believing that no other person has asked this same question.. And that no other person ha figured this out. If anyone knows the answer please let me know.
