A supporter of my business DONATED to me $500 without asking for a service. The money was spent immediately due to an emergency. She then later asked for a service which I then offered to send her an invoice for, which is separate from a donation. She did not answer me until weeks later in regards to the SERVICE. By then I did not feel comfortable or feel able to help her in her condition, she layed out the details of being a "targeted individual" which is something I am not professionally able to handle. An invoice for the service was never sent. She never paid for a service. I feel roped into being forced to give someone a service that I do not owe. The money she gave me did not come with conditions. Paypal claims that the customer has the right to their own credit card protection rights. So with that being said, Paypal was able to deduct the money from my account leaving me in the NEGATIVES about 500 bucks. Paypal is the way I run my business and how I have been surviving. I now not only not have the bit of money I had in my account, but to make any more money would just be replacing what she took. Paypal does not protect the seller from donations versuses services rendered. I feel that if a customer wants to take back a donation at any given moment then that is PAYPAL'S responsibility to handle the money issue until the case is resolved. This issue could last up to 30 days with me being in the negatives and it's not fair. It makes me feel unsafe to receive donations in the future.
