I am pleased to report that the most recent PayPal Help reply to me, dated 18 September, admitted there had been "a major isuue" with the voucher code provided by eBay, and promised me ten pounds payment as compensation.   In the meantime I paid for my eBay order without the discount in order to keep the seller from waiting too long.   After I had paid, I noticed that Paypal had infact deposited more than ten pounds into my account yesterday, which is more than enough compensation for the trouble.   Given that PayPal Help did respond within 24 hours of each of my queries (excepting the last when I sent a reminder after 36 hours) and the suggestions from PayPal_Dian in this thread, I am satisfied with the service so far, and I will continue looking for difficult to find books on eBay.   I hope the thread starter gets a similarly satisfying resolution. ... Just three quick questions:   1. Am I permitted to post links to screenshots of PayPal showing my problem? I will blank out all identifying parts, but should I also blank out the voucher code?   2. (I retried the same code again today, still waiting for PayPal help to reply) Is it correct that I paste the voucher code into the Ebay Redemption code field, then click Apply, then click Continue?   3. Ok, I just retried to complete my purchase with the code on a completely new Firefox browser, which failed the same way, and opened a chat with ebay live help. I also had a 10 pound promotion emailed to me, but the description was so confusing I had to email Paypal Help to ask for clarification. Paypal Help responded within 24 hours and explained there was an error in the code given in the email, and they gave me a modified code.   However, while eBay checkout accepted the new code (it rejected the emailed code as not having any funds), PayPal itself reported an incorrect code error. Paypal UK have sent me a £5 cashback offer which will expire on 8 October.   The email contained an ‘Activate My Cashback' link, which I clicked after checking the target was in fact paypal.com.   The conditions are vague and do not precisely specify what is an eligible purchase: "... which involves the purchase of goods and services on eBay.co.uk in UK GBP." I assume this includes eBay auction wins.   The next day PayPal also sent me a different email with the subject "[my name] a £10 reward is waiting for you from eBay‏", which will expire 20 September. This email has a "Sign Up And Save" link whose target was also paypal.com.   That second email included a voucher code and a link to the conditions at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/vouchers/PP/ .   I have emailed paypal asking for more clarity regarding the confusion and potential conflict between the two offers.
