I have a fully verified business account with Paypal from the last 3 years. I have had alot of transactions in the past, large and small and never had probelm in receiving or sending money. Now my account has limited access from the last 4 days. I have supplied Paypal with my identification and address details and not heard from them since. My online businesses are relying on Paypal and im receiving payments for sales made but not able to pay my suppliers due to which Im not able to fulfill orders and my customers are asking for a refund. Paypal is not a bank and their so called "contracts" are not legally binding and they in fact have no right to hold my money. Also im abroad and calling the Uk helpline would cost me alot for no reason to get my own money back. Paypal did the same last year and then reinstatted my account saying it was a security measure and now its happened again. I need to take legal action against Paypal as they have to right to hold any ones money. If my account is not reinstated soon I have no other option to take this to small claims court and claim compensation for damage to my business.

Good point. Why 21 days beacuse it earns them interest. You are funding the advert you see several times a day on TV. This needs to be addressed to athorities.

Im having the same issue and they just not seem to resolve it or they don't want to resolve it. What about payments not from ebay? All withdrawls are held for more than 72 hours. Its not the ammount of money, I had to wait 72 hours for £10 and the same for £100. Definately, they are earning interest. No point of wasting money on calling customer service. This needs to be reported to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau www.consumerfinance.gov or call 855-411-2372. And I disagree with kernowlass. You are an experieced seller, you can afford to wait. Think about people who can't afford to wait or people who are relying on Paypal payments to pay their bills. No one reads the terms and they can be changed anytime. There is no reason what so ever to hold payments. Security is just an excuse.

Atleast this should not happen with business accounts as they know that business transactions need to be sent and recieved on time. I am a programer myself and I understand how these security checks work but this is not a security issue. Thats just an excuse to keep your money. If there is a security check it would look at the withdrawl history, account history and the ammount of money you are withdrawing. Offcouse a withdrawl of £1 should not be marked as pending whereas a withdrawal of £1000 should be manually released for security reasons if someone has hacked your account. My only question to Paypal is that if the money has left Paypal offcourse its kept in their accounts for whatever 5-10 days. What's happening with the money in those 10 days? Any other solution you recommend?

Im having the same issue with Paypal and I am looking for an alternative which atleast lets you withdraw money anytime. This is like you go to your bank to withdraw and they say no you cant have your money unless OUR security checks are complete.

Why are all my withdrawals being flagged for security resons? I have a business account with Paypal. This is getting really annoying now when you have to wait for your own money. Please resolve this ASAP as I would have to look for some other merchant solution.

Im havaing the same problem. Actually this is not a technical issue. Just imagine if you were Paypal and you could hold all that money for 3-20 days. What could you posibly do with it 🙂 offcourse make more money. This is exactly what Paypal is doing. Technically if the money has left your Paypal and you cant use it where is the money held? I am a sole trader and my clients pay me through paypal. How can I commit them a deadline for the work if I am not sure when I would receive the money in my bank account. Or what if I have started the work and suring the time the funds are held by Paypal, the client asks for a refund. What I hate about these corporations is they make you get used to the service, you start depending on them and then they **bleep** you over and over again. Best part is you can't do anything about it. Just sit there and wait for Paypal's mercy to release the funds. I don't blame Paypal, its the government that backs projects like Paypal, Google etc. as they benefir from it. Why is gambling legal when clearly they are the biggest thieves on the planet.

After my last post it was within a few hours but now its the same again. My withdrawals are being held for review for over 72 hours. This is getting really annoying now. What's the point of receiving money through Paypal when you can not access it anytime.

This is getting really annoying now. Why is Paypal not releasing the payments. I am now having problems with every withdrawl. What's the point of receiving money through Paypal when you can not access it. This is more like Paypal is borrowing money for 21 days with no interest and without the permission of customers.
