Pending Balance?

I received a payment of £9.46 from an ebay buyer and i went on paypal to withdraw to my bank account but it says pending balance: £9.46, how long will it stay pending for?

I think Paypal is a Ponzi scheme ran by morons. 

I got three payments withheld for absolutely no reason. I am receiving regular payments from a client for almost a year now. Paypal has recently started withholding my payments for at least 7 days each. 

I am not selling anything on ebay or anywhere else for that matter. We are using paypal just as a money transfer service and I have been receiving these payments from the same client.

Since they have absolutely no reason to block my payments, I think they are blocking them and using the money within this time. I can't possibly imagine any other reason because even if something would look suspicious, all they have to do is contact the sender. There is no need to wait between 7 and 21 days for this.

On top of this, Paypal fees are crazy. I am paying $100 for each $2000 payment. Then, they make money out of the currency exchange too.

I already found other money transfer services which are way cheaper and you don't get money blocked. They are called Transferwise and XE. I am not affiliated with them in any way, I am just a **bleep** off customer with more than 6k withheld and I will honestly try to convince everybody I can to stay away for the Paypal scam.

A pending balance can be very dangerous.  I requested money from a eBay buyer and the money was pending upto 21 days.  This was a con because the eBay buyer did not pay for the item from there bank, they wanted the watch worth £2600 sent to them without paying for it.  A pending balance of all kinds wether it's cheaque or card payment MUST be cleared before posting it.  This was a con by the eBay buyer.  I tried this experiment myself using my brothers account as a trial, you request money from your PayPal account using email and it stays pending without the other person reading there email, the person requesting the money thinks it's in there PayPal account when it's not because the email has not been opened or read.  So wait until the pending balance clears then post the item.

I HAVE JUST VIEWED MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT AND ITS SHOWING MONEY PENDING ALSO A BALANCE OFF 9.26 , BUT WHEN I WENT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING UNDER 9.26 IT WOULDNT ALLOW ME I NEED TO KNOW WHY ??

Same thing happened to me i had 3 sales thi week but it says pending funds i am not goin to risk sending out 3 apple i phone 6 without being paid for.Ok itemm gets to the buyer and lets say buyer decide to say he got an empty box !!! annd leaves neg feedback so you will not get nothing back nor cash or item.This is not good this is a ripoff by both sides ebay and paypal.I am closing down ebay account to many hackers and spamers latley.

i have sent my item, my paypal balance still says pendind and i have also paid £3.25 for i dont no wot and i still can withdraw my funds, first time ive used ebay and never again.

To all the victims of Paypal,

Having seen NUMEROUS highly disconcerting negative reviews on the appalling and very evidently lack of Customer Service from Paypal.

I can strongly suggest one thing that can work.  GLOBAL Petition requesting ALL relevant authorities to Haul in Paypal's key Directors and shake them into understanding that serious reform MUST be done to avoid Unhappy and thoroughly annoyed Customers.

If you as an individual make a complain on your OWN - you will very likely be dismissed as a Whinger, Moaner, Noise maker and a Nutter!!  Companies like Paypal DO NOT take Notice of Individuals.

It is actually very simple action and CAN work.  How do I know this?  I launched a Global online petition campaign against another Giant Corporate and it took me just over 6 weeks to Garner support/signatures of over 12,000 very hacked off customers - then I forwarded/posted (via Recorded Delivery) to European MP's and various Authorities over 3 countries.  GUESS What??!!  Issue resolved and everyone got compensated! YUP!  ALL of us hacked-off PayPal customers must join together and sign a petition which I will create shortly and start a Global campaign!

As PayPal has MILLIONS of customers and a vast proportion of them have and are being messed about by the abysmal Customer service - it is not difficult to garner over 20,000 support/signatures.

Just type in Petition against Paypal appalling review in any search engine within 4 hours by now and FB, Tweet all your contacts who have/had a Paypal account and genuinely wants Paypal to be reformed so that Paypal actually does what it says in it's slogan PayPal - The Safer and Faster way to pay.

Remember that we the-hacked-off customers of Paypal MUST go viral in seeking plenty of supporters for the petition, Therefore Once you find the Petition: PayPal MUST Reform and improve Customer Service online - Tweet & FB to Everyone.

I now have 11 ebay customers who unfortunately cannot receive their items which are due for despatch this morning because all their payments have been frozen "Pending Review".  I am just dreading having to write the apologetic emails to each and everyone of them for an issue caused by PayPal.

I think 21 days is a ridiculous amount of time for a new seller to have to wait for their funds to be released.

I couldnt print off the postage labels to get the money  I paid for delivery back because I have no printer. Not that I could pay for the postage labels online because I had no money in my bank account...hence me selling items on Ebay in the first place. So to have to fork out postage off my own back and wait this long to get it back is frankly absurd.

So because I had to borrow the money from my pensioner mother to post the items, I couldnt afford to send them all recorded delivery because she's not rich (And its not made made obvious in the minefield of information on both the ebay and PP websites!).

So two out of the 3 items I sold are STILL awaiting the funds to be released, meaning my mother is now out of pocket aswell because paypal are still holding my money so I cant give it back to her.

21 days is an awful long time to keep people waiting for their money. Why not 14 days? Why 21? Do you not think this is excessive??

Good point. Why 21 days beacuse it earns them interest. You are funding the advert you see several times a day on TV. This needs to be addressed to athorities.
