I'd like to know why we are paing $150 for this and then hope we get enough sale to get $100 back. Tha'ts absolute BS. Most people that use PayPal don't do this much. If they did, they would have their own merchant account. Just offer it for $49 so we all benifit. I'm thinking of going to Square. They only charge $49 for theirs out right. I had an email converstaion with PayPal support about the difference in price between PayPal's EMV reader and Square's. Their reply was less than encouraging. To paraphrase, they said tough. I'm guessing they will change the price after the initial swarm. It realy kills me that I have to go elsewhere for this as I've been with PayPal for so long. I only do a few shows a year and would never make the requirements for the rebate.   Congratulations on the money grab PayPal. Guess you don't want the little guy to use you. But still, the $150 for the unit is way too much for me. Why are you making the people that need it the most, those of us that don't make $3000 is sales in a month, to pay more for it. You are only liable if you swipe a card with a chip. I checked all of my cards and none of them have a chip yet. I agree that $150 for the reader is outragious. It would take me considerably longer to get $1000 in charges. I'm hoping they rethink that.. If not, I may have to open a square account. ... View more
