On 12/20, received email from Paypal that stated could have $5 deducted from purchase price. I duly authorized the offer and later in the day I bought a case for a phone. Paypal failed to discount the price by $5 as they had claimed that they would do. I was not told of this in advance of the check-out being processed. At that point felt that I was stuck with the purchase thru Paypal since it’d already gone through. I was not given an explanation: period. It was bad enough that this company did not honor its promise, but at least should have been given a warning with details that they weren’t going to deduct the discount amount at some point in the payment process. But then what should I expect from a company like this? This is the second time that I have contacted Paypal and wonder if I will even get a courtesy reply. Won’t be using Paypal again and will try to cancel my account, but after a search through the website not sure if that’s possible. Was wondering just how typical this is for this company?
