PayPal Invoice - Suggested Option of Using Open Of...

Hi All,   I know that I have already asked about using Open Office Calc to utilize the new Excel invoice template, but as the two formats are not compatible, this time I am putting it in the form of a future suggested option offering. PayPal has recently put out an Excel template to help produce and track PayPal Invoices. As Excel is a commercial, paid for, product that not all of us can afford to have the latest and the greatest versions of, how about porting this template over to an Open Office Calc spreadsheet template, which is an open source (free) solution that would be available to all, regardless of an individual's financial capabilities.   Thanking you for your consideration in this matter, Stan... ... Thanks again for your helpful information. It appears that this will not work with the latest OpenOffice Calc or the older version of Excel (2000) that I am trying to transition away from because of other technical limitations. Too bad PayPal does not see fit to offer this invoicing enhancement to those of us that are outside of the "latest and greatest" Microsoft world. Hopefully someone in PayPal programming will read this and take this under future consideration...Stan... ... View more

Well Snoeshoe, thanks again for another quick reply to another question of mine. The only file I can find that you describe is paypalinvoicer.vsto and that is sitting in my temporary internet folder. There are no .xltm files anywhere on my machine. The only file in my Microsoft\Templates folder is Normal.dot for MS Word...   I don't know if the installer first checks for a valid installation of Excel 2007 or 2010, or what, but it does not install the Invoice Template anywhere. There is a new file (credentials.store) in a new folder (PayPalize) that was installed when I tried the first installation earlier, but like I said, no template anywhere...   Thanks, Stan... ... Hey Snoeshoe,   Thanks for the reply, but what I am looking for is for me (the seller), to give the customer the choice of more than one fixed shipping option. Yes. I am aware that I can fill in $1.00 or $3.50 shipping, but that rate is then fixed to the buyer. I am looking for an option on my invoice that I can offer the buyer his choice of $1.00 or $3.50 shipping, when I feel that the item can be shipped either way...It could also be used to offer the buyer his choice of regular mail or more expensive priority mail too...   Thanks again, Stan... ... PayPal Invoice - Suggested Option with Shipping

Hi All,   While I am here, I just want to post a suggestion for PayPal Invoicing. How about adding to the shipping charge field an option for the seller to offer more than one fixed shipping method/rate to the buyer when paying? I ship small items that are sometimes fragile so they need full protection, but others that are not fragile and they do not need full protection, but sometimes the customer still wants it. I would like to click a box on the invoice when I am making it up that when it is something that could go in less expensive packaging, that would offer the buyer the chance to choose, when he pays, whether he wants to pay for less expensive shipping, or pay full shipping for a fully protected package. I could also see this being used by everyone to offer regular first class mail or priority mail, or even some other options they may want to offer...   Thanks, Stan... ... View more

Hi,   I tried to download the PayPal Excel Invoice template and it says instalation complete. I do not have Excel 2007 or 2010, but I do have Openoffice Calc which is supposed to be able to work with Excel 2007 templates. After doing a search of my computer, I cannot find any Excel templates to open. Any thoughts?   Thanks, Stan... ... View more

Although PayPal lists Excel 2007 & 2010 as a requirement, I have Excel 2000 along with the MS Compatibility Pack upgrade that allows me to use documents and templates from 2007 and higher in my version of 2000. I have downloaded and installed the new PayPal Excel invoicer, but do not see a PayPal tab when I open up Excel. Any thoughts would be certainly appreciated. Thanks all, Stan...   BTW: I have searched my computer for a new .xltx or .xltm file, but could not find any, so it appears that the PayPal installer did not install the template during installation even though it says that install was completed and that I have the latest version of the template already??? Perhaps it is in a different format than a standard excel template with a different extension?? ... View more
