Same thing happened to me yesterday! I got an error code and said PayPal could not accept my payment, to contact them if I recieved the message more than once. I've been using PayPal for over a year now and have made 100+ purchases through them, and have never had a problem until now. Please let me know if you find out anything! ... View more

Error code: 70010 10001 when trying to pay for an ...

I won an auction lastnight and tried to pay for it immediately and I got an Error code:  70010 10001, that says -   "We were not able to process your PayPal payment.  If you encounter this message more than once, please contact PayPal customer support for further assistance."   I have never had a problem with paying for my items, until yesterday. I have tried paying for it several times today and keep receiving the same message. It's getting pretty aggravating! I contacted PayPal via email and they were of no help. All my info is verified and like I said, never had a problem until now, so what gives? I believe PayPal needs to get its glitches fixed ASAP. I even got an Error Code twice when I clicked the Post a Topic button, irritating as heck! If the problem doesn't get fixed, I will have to back out of the item I won, correct?   I've seen people posting about paying for an item using the "goods" method on PayPal. How does that work and is it safe? The reason I ask, is that PayPal says they reccommend using eBay checkout when purchasing something from eBay, instead of the "goods" method. PLEASE HELP!!!!   ...
