Thank you for your reply @kernowlass The original payment was funded from my paypal balance, so I would expect it to go back in there. And the transaction is still sitting in the pending section, so it hasn’t cleared at my end, even though it has cleared at the seller’s end (according to her) I am so confused and am not sure what to do. I have had various refunds before through PayPal and have never had this problem before 😞 ... View more

Hello, I requested a refund from a seller in the US which she was happy to give me and it was initiated on the 7th of June.  The refund was pending and on my account it said it would be available on the 12th of June.  On the 12th, I got an email from the seller saying that it had gone through, however it is still showing as pending for me and the money has not reached my account, and I am a little worried. i understand that refunds can be pending and don’t happen immediately but i don’t understand why my refund has gone overdue nor why my seller is saying it has cleared, but it has not yet shown up for me. Aaah, ok... hmmm, well I opened the dispute purely because they weren't giving me my refund. The item was fine, but it didn't fit me, so I returned it using the enclosed returns labels and they received it and everything was fine....until the refund never came, so I didn't really have a problem until after I had returned it. Thank you very much for your reply.   My item has been returned and the seller has confirmed that it has been received...I have no idea why they aren't refunding me. I only opened the dispute today so I'm not sure how long I need to wait in order to escalate it to a claim?   i would give PayPal a call but I am abroad at the moment and can't seem to get through on my mobile from Spain!  ... Hello, An ebay seller from whom I bought an item and then returned it has asked me to close a Paypla dispute that I opened before they issue me with a refund. They have told me that they can´t issue a refund while the dispute is open, which seems a bit strange to me?   I returned the item without problems and was told that my refund would be processed in 24 hours. Nothing came through, so I contacted them and I was told that the refund was being processed and I would receive my funds in 48 hours. Again nothing came through and so I contacted them. When they didn´t rely, I opened a Paypal dispute and within an hour or so, they contacted me saying that becase the dispute was open, they couldn´t process my refund.   I have politely told them that if they refund me then I will happily close the dispute, but as I have had no reply, I am at a bit of a loss at what to do.   Is this correct that a seller can´t make a refund if there is a dispute open? And should I do what they ask and close it, or best to hold my ground?   Thank you! ... View more

Problems with Etsy Payment

Hello, I´m having trouble making a payment for some Etsy purchases.  Every time that I try to complete the paypal transaction, an error message appears telling me that the payment cannot be processed and that I should contact the merchant and select another method of payment.   I ahve contacted the merchant who has verified that all is fine at her end.  I used my paypal account already today for purchases on another website and everything was fine.  I have plenty of funds in my account and so I have no idea what theproblem could be, nor how to rectify it.   Can anyone help?   Thank you so much. ...
