I recived a message on my mobile suggesting that my Paypal account had been frozen. I immediately thought this was a fake. I followed what I thought was a logical approach and contacted Paypal describing the message. I then received an email that contained this extract; Please be reminded always that PayPal will not ask you to click on any link and then ask you for your Bank Account details, credit card details, we will not ask you to send money, we will not ask you for your PayPal account and password since these things could compromise your PayPal account information. Whether it is an email notification or text message notifications, PayPal will never ask for any of these information. A legitimate text message notification from PayPal should only come from 62226 since this is the only number that we are using in sending notifications. Kindly send a screenshot of the text message to spoof@paypal.co.uk so that our Fraud Prevention Team can investigate the origin of the text message and ensure that the people and the related site will get shut down. The message continued ... Don't forget to delete this from your inbox after forwarding to ensure that you will not be attempted to entertain this in the future. The message contained unusual language patterns and statements 'in bold'. Can anyone advise me if this procedure originated from Paypal???
