We run a website that allows couples to create a wedding website. Some couples want a button on their site to allow their friends/relatives to make a personal payment towards a wedding present. However, we are running into problems as a button on their site always seems to charge a fee, regardless of the type. This is frustrating, as if their guests just log into their Paypal account, they can send a free "personal payment", as long as they don't fund their account with a credit card. It's just a bit clunky, and we'd prefer to make it nice and easy for them by setting up the payment with a nice simple Paypal button. I contacted Paypal support today who said: I have reviewed your account and email and believe the issue lies in the type of button you are create for your customer’s websites. I would suggest attempting to create a donate button which will not charge a fee. These still have all functionality of a 'Buy Now' button. Our members are often on the phone to Paypal too, and they get told it's a problem with the way our website is set up, which then leads to angry emails/phone calls to our support team, asking for us to refund their Paypal fees... Please can someone help resolve this once and forever! Is there a way of creating a button on a website that sets up a personal payment? It has to be possible surely? Thanks very much in advance.
