I returned an item over two months ago as the seller sent an item that was eternally damaged. After the item was returned, I received an email from the company stating I would be issued a full refund in 7-10 business days. The 7-10 business days had passed and still there was no refund. Slowly, the company started responding less and less to my emails and then completely ignored all my emails altogether at one point. Leaving me no choice, I filed a dispute with PayPal. After some time had passed I had the case escalated as the seller was not cooperating. Now PayPal wants me to provide a tracking number as proof that I returned the item. I have the FedEx email which sent the link for me to download the label but the link was good for a 24 hour use and I am unable to obtain the tracking number anymore when I click on the link that was provided in my email. Unfortunately, I did not write down this tracking number as I did not anticpate the company would not refund my money, as in the beginning they were so complliant and helpful. However, I do have proof through emails but after speaking to a PayPal agent, I was told this is not enough. It's been two months I've been going through this process and I'm just frustrated. The PayPal agents are telling me that they need the seller to confirm that the item was returned before they can releasing the holding funds to me, however, the seller when I called her and emailed her she 'claims' there is nothing for her to confirm to on PayPal and has asked me to message her on PayPal instead of exchanging emails. The PayPal agents have also tried to reach her by phone by I think at this point she's evading those as well. I'm worried as I've never been in this situation where the seller has ceased to cooperate or comply. I did not purchase through ebay but through an online store. I guess the problems that I would like to solve is: 1) What do I need to do to get my money back if PayPal is unable to help me, as I don't have the return tracking code? 2) Is there a way I can communicate on PayPal with the other seller? If anyone could help me or has been in a similar situation, I'd greatly appreciate any advice or feedback. Thanks so much for those who took the time to read this.
