Hi I'm looking for a bit of advice. I sold my car on eBay last week. The buyer supplied me a £100 deposit using papal and arranged to come and collect the car today. I have waited home all day today but the buyer hasn't turned up. I have just received a message from the buyer stating that he has been to collect the car and wasn't happy with it and stats the car was wrongly listed and is demanding his deposit be returned.. This is completely untrue. I don't believe he drove 3 hours to my house and didn't even knock on my door or phone me. The car is 100% listed correctly and all faults with the car where listing in the auction. My points are: 1: he bid to buy 2: the car was listed correctly 3: why drive 3 hours here and 3 hours back and not even knock on the door to point out that it was wrongly listed 4: the buyer had 1 week to come and inspect the car. 5: I lost a days wages from taking time off work for them to come. So the question is Do I have to return the deposit just because he changed his mind. Buying something on eBay is a legal contract so am I in a place to demand that he bought the car and needs to pay for it?? Thank you for any advice anyone can give on this matter but at the moment I feel a little lost and have no idea what to do.
