I have made several orders from a website that either takes credit cards directly, or Paypal. I used Paypal, and wanting to use my credit card to gain miles, I transferred my balance out of the pp account. I then selected the credit card I wanted to use and proceeded with checkout. My credit card showed a pending charge that matched the transaction, and a day later another pending charge to cancel it out.... As far as I can tell, I received money a few hours after this transaction that was enough to cover this transaction, and so Paypal decided to just use the new money in my balance instead of the the credit card that I selected! This negates so many reasons to use Paypal! I don't earn miles or rewards or miles on my card, and my purchase isn't covered by my credit card! Paypal: You may have saved a few pennies by pulling this switch. However, from now on, I will go straight through this merchants credit card processor, which will cut you out of fees on future transactions!
