Does your debit card have a VISA logo on it? If it does, then your bank may be able to recover your money using the VISA debit chargeback process. All banks issuing Visa debit cards have agreed to the chargeback process: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/working_lunch/4260806.stm A VISA debit chargeback has to be initiated within 120-days of you becoming aware of the problem: http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/sale-of-goods/your-rights-when-paying-by-credit-card/chargeback-on-credit-and-debit-cards So, if you can prove that you were expecting delivery after 15 August 2011 (an old email from the seller may suffice), then you should still be in time to start the chargeback process. Be aware, though, some banks may need convincing: http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2008/nov/09/halifax-visa-chargeback-debit-cards If you have the seller's name and address, then another option is to take action against them through the Small Claims Court: https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome Before making the claim, you must send a final warning letter (by recorded delivery) to the seller, to give them a chance to refund you. Templates for this 'Letter Before Action' can found online, or you can get help from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
