Hi I wonder has anyone else had an issue similar to the following? On the 17th of November I received an email stating that my account was restricted and I went directly to www.paypal.co.uk to resolve the issue. I have checked my URL history and it proves that I responded to this issue directly at www.paypal.co.uk via the Resolution Centre however I have today spoken to a very unhelpful operative who would not believe this and said it was only resticted from the 27th. Apparently this was a fraudulent email however I always use the direct URL www.paypal.co.uk for all the obvious reasons. I followed the process of changing my password then my security questions. Step 3 required a pin code and a phone call to my home phone number which I completed a few days later on the 20th. Step 4 required me to authorise a transaction. This step resulted in an error message stating that the transaction did not exist. I have attempted to contact paypal via thier own email form on at least six occasions via various subtopics and have not had a response. Also my account was not reviewed after 2 days as per the email I received which states "When all the steps are completed we will review the information. We aim to complete our review within 48 hours" I also know my account was restricted from the 17th as I attempted to pay for an item from eBay on the 22nd and FOLLOWED the process to pay for it and it failed and when I logged on it had the same message and required me to complete Step 4 which always failed. I tried to call on Saturday at 8.40pm and was told PayPal are closed yet if you click on ‘Call Us’ it states “PayPal Customer Service opening times are from Monday-Friday 8am-10pm, Saturday 8am-9pm or Sunday 9am-9pm” I logged on to my account TODAY and low and behold I only had two questions to complete (password and security questions). Someone has removed step 4 that was causing the error. I called and explained this to the operator who refused to believe anything I had to say and even blamed google? I have a record of emails and URL history to prove that I am not going mad. I am an IT security specialist and know the risks and the processes that fraudsters use. My concern now is that the issue is internal to PayPal and that my account has been 'adjusted' and audit logs amended. Am I alone in having this battle with PayPal? Let me know Thanks Gareth
