I'm selling a car on Craigslist. I've now had 3 different buyers offering to purchase the car sight unseen. After they've asked a few legitimate sounding questions, they reply, "Ok, I'll buy it" with all e-mails looking similar to this: ok no problem i will be paying you with my PayPal account because it's attached to my bank account and its safe and very secure way to make payment. If my mode of payment is accepted just send me your paypal email address,(Paypal ID) so i can pay in right away. Make sure you get back to me so that i can make the payment. I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been made, so no shipping included. And if you dont have a paypal account, you can easily go to www.paypal.com and sign up. its very easy. I await your reply asap To me, this has to be a scam, yet I can't figure out how it's a scam or how they could make paymnet on something and it not be legitimate. I mean, who would buy something like a car sight unseen? Theoretically, If I gave them my Paypal e-mail address, payment would have to be made before I would turn over ownership of the car....but.....I still smell scam. Perhaps they're hacking accounts using a persons e-mail? Anyone have any thoughts on this?
