My post may not address the central issue but may shine light on some issues with Paypal.   I would say offer both options but the problem with paypal is the fact that you are adding a middle man to the operation that will incur fees once you receive the money.  Then you have some fraudulent buyers that will submit claims with paypal that are untrue and Paypal mostly sides with them.  One of such claims is that they did not receive the item even when you have proof that you did, sometimes Paypal sides with sellers once proof is submitted, but there are some cases in which they sided with the buyer anyways,   Another claim from buyers is that the item is not as described.  How exactly can a seller defend themselves from that if you only have pictures of what you sold? Then Paypal does not enforce a way in which they can prove that that is the case, and they simply get a refund when sending the item back to you.  How can you as a seller then turn around and prove that the item was used and abuse and NOW different from what you sent?   Paypal does not respect individual's return policy, therefore you will deal with unnecessary problems.  Buyers may feel safer checking out through paypal because of this added protection.  The protection is needed of course but sellers are at a great disadvantage with Paypal because they do not respect the seller's return/exchange policy, they favor their own and that's how they resolve problems.   So if you add Paypal, its like surrendering your own business' return policy and following their own.  If you do not offer Paypal, you may lose customers and specially fraudulent buyers that hide under Paypal's "protection" to do their schemes.   If you do not offer Paypal, then you only have the credit card company to deal with in terms of problems of legitimizing authorization for a purchase.   I hope this helped. ... Re: Buyer Refunded without any Seller Involvement?

This is the problem that all of us are having at the time,   I do not feel that Paypal pays much attention to detecting fraud from buyers as to their claims.  They can claim non-receipt if you did not send the item with delivery confirmation and get away with a full refund and keep the item.   The buyer can claim Item Significantly not as Described, and I do not believe that they ask them for proof that that is the case and just take the buyer's word for it.   About not having received notification?  Did you read your e-mails, junk mail and all that, they do let  you know (Ebay and Paypal) of an ongoining or new claim against you, they even ask your cooperation in the matter and how would you like to proceed.   If you did not read the e-mail or responded to the claim as you were not aware, they automatically side with the buyer. ... Open a dispute for unpaid item.   I am not sure how did not that happen unless you accepted the payment directly through their bank account instead of e-check or debit card.  Please elaborate so that we can all offer more feedback or possible solution.   Paypal will not clear a payment until it is actually received.  Once the payment is complete, the buyer can't take it back unless they claim a refund for non-receipt and such claims. ... Have you tried creating that e-mail address if it is available.  If you haven't tried, give it a try.   Then you can add that e-mail address to your paypal and take it out later and correct all e-mails on both sides after payment is completed and all.   Hope this helps. ... View more

I have spoken to various reps over the years, and all of them spoke fluent english free of heavy accents.   I would suggest for you to try calling over and over until you reach someone that you can understand and that can understand you.   You can also e-mail paypal although all you will get is a generic copy and paste answer. ... ok, something similar happened to me with a buyer.   The buyer sent the payment to my person e-mail address (the one attached to the ebay account) instead of the one linked to Paypal.    What the seller needs to do is add the e-mail address (the one you sent the payment to) onto his/her account and he/she can get the money. Bingo!     ... View more

File a claim through paypal claiming item significantly not as described.   Did the seller let you know that she did not have the item and was sending you something different.  Did the seller offer another item and you accepted the item before the seller shipped the item?   I do not believe that paypal will refund return shipping regardless of the reason, its just the way it is.  You can, however, speak to the seller and see if he/she will refund the return shipping since it is not  the item you ordered.   Only the seller can refund the return shipping if he/she feels like it.  Paypal nor Ebay enforce such a rule as to return shipping.  By the way, you may need to prove that the item is not what you ordered and some acknowledgement from the seller being aware that she/he sent you the incorrect item. ...
