I had the same issue the first time. I called PayPal and was told my acct was blocked for security protection because it was my first time using PayPal balance instore. I had to answer security questions and the freeze was removed. I had to speak to multiple reps who weren't helpful. In short I was unsure if paying instore would ever work but decided to attempt it one more time. 1. I made sure my primary payment preference was set as PayPal balance. 2. Selected pay In Store and chose the Dollar General location I shop at. A 4 digit code was given to use as the pin # at checkout. 3. At Dollar General the employee had to run the purchase as PayPal before I selected PayPal on the card reader for it to work. (This may be part of the issue). I used Pay After Delivery for all my eBay and some B&H purchases. But seens October the Pay After Delivery option is not longer avaible on eBay or B&H. I called the PayPal and no body knows why the option is not longer available and every time I called I get a different answer. My default payment method on PayPal still shows Pay After Delivery. ... Thank you for the reply. I ended up sending her the items after I had cooled down a bit, including all the freebies I had originally enclosed. She emailed me after receiving the package being oh so happy and thanking me profusely and wanting to place another order. Now she wants me to 'hold' another discontinued item for her since she can't find it anywhere else. I told her I would hold it for her for a week at most, if she doesn't place the order within 7 days I cannot hold it especially since the holiday season is coming up and it's a popular item. Any thoughts on this kind of situation? Since she was a problem to begin with I probably should not have agreed to hold anything but my kindness won out. Hi Blessedyes01 -   Welcome to the Forums, I'm happy that you've reached out to us here for this issue!   Generally a buyer would pay shipping and handling, so that's not completely unheard of. The two biggest things you'll want to watch out for here are that you're actually purchasing the shipping. They may be paying for it, but you have to make sure you're buying it. Otherwise, if they purchase the shipping label, they could potentially have the item sent somewhere else, causing you to lose any dispute that's filed against you.   The other thing is verifying that the emails you're receiving from PayPal are real. One aspect of a scam of this sort is that they'll send you emails from "PayPal" saying you've been paid, and asking that you send the item. So you'll want to make sure you're logging into your actual PayPal account to verify that you have money in your balance - even if it's being temporarily held. Otherwise you could be sending your item out without being paid for it.   I hope this helps you better understand some of the potential risks you could be running into here. Hi boosbiz65 -   I appreciate you reaching out to us here in the Community for an answer to this refund issue. Quite honestly, the best option for this would be to reach out to the merchant directly to work with them on issuing a refund. If you paid them using PayPal, then they should be able to refund you back to PayPal without an issue. I can certainly understand where it would be frustrating to receive notification of an unauthorized payment. 😞    You would probably want to check out our Seller Protection Policy, to see if you qualify to be covered under that. If you are, and we find the case in the sender's favor (meaning we confirm there is unauthorized activity), PayPal would credit you for the loss instead of you having to absorb it.   Hope this works out for you!   - Andy ...
