Guitarguy49237 - I appreciate your feedback. I know a lot of people miss the secure cards. PayPal definitely considered all the costs and benefits when deciding to discontinue the service, because we really do want to offer the most robust and convenient services that we can while also being as secure as possible.
kfollis - Welcome to the forums! That's strange. Online, phone, and brick&mortar purchases shouldn't differ like that. I'm thinking that may not be the actual pattern. The declines were likely for other reasons. For instance, if the expiration date is incorrect, or the billing address doesn't match, that might cause a decline. One other thing I have seen before is if a balance is negative (not just $0, but actually negative, usually due to a temporary hold for a dispute or something similar) then that will cause the debit card to deny the payment. If you run into it again, give us a call. A representative can look at the denial and figure out what the reason was, as long as it was a recent denial.
