When used as a debit card all appears to be well. In spite of having a backup source of funding (my checking account with a large balance) up to $1000.00 I am unable to withdraw funds via ATM and I am unable to get cash over and above the purchase price. Example: I made an in-store purchase today using my Paypal debit card. The total was $160.25 The clerk asked me if I wanted some cash and I opted for $40.00. The transaction was declined. I re-ran my debit card for just the purchase price of $160.25 and it went through no problem. The message I received from Paypal states that "if there is not adequate funds in my Paypal account" then I should set up a backup funding source. I HAVE a backup funding source- my checking account- up to $1000.00. Still, though, the transaction was denied! I have also found it impossible to make ATM withdrawals. Again- Paypal tells me to set up a backup funding source. I HAVE! The same backup funding source I've been using for a couple YEARS now: my checking account! A few weeks ago, to avoid this problem in the future, I put moved some money from my checking account into my Paypal account. That didn't work out too well because when I made an online purchase it used the paypal funds from my paypal account leaving me in this dsame situation: No funds in my Paypal account and even though I have backup funding through my checking account I still get declined. I'm about ready to cut this card up and find an alternative. I was, essentially, strong-armed by Paypal into using this **bleep** card in thew first place. I used to use securecard when making opnline purchases and it worked out wonderfully. So much for that great idea huh? Paypal- get it together becasue you're driving people away in droves. Alertpay here I come! Rant over. Peace, Guitarguy49237
