I have been a user of Paypal since 2005. Recently, It has been requested by vendors I enter my credit card information after logging into Paypal using the Paypal interface, but Paypal already has my verified credit card information. Now that I try to close my Paypal account and remove my bank account information, the Paypal website is blocking me from removing the bank account information stating "a transaction is pending". Lies. Nothing is pending. I do not have any active recurring subscriptions. I do not have any pending transactions. I will contact my bank tomorrow to inform them Paypal is refusing to remove my bank account information. This is starting to feel like Scott Tucker's Ameriloan... ... View more

I had the same problem. A website was having me log into Paypal via the interface with my Paypal credentials. After I logged in, my preferred payment source was nowhere to be found. The payment source has been used on Paypal several times for other vendors. Paypal refuses to address the issue. I can only assume Paypal is allowing vendors to circumvent any fees a vendor is required to pay when a customer uses Paypal; vendors acquire your credit card information outside Paypal services. ... It has been 14 days since first requesting assistance on this forum. I have been unable to find a straight answer from Paypal customer support here, Paypal on twitter, or these forums. Several businesses are offering the same services as Paypal these days, but those services actually protect my funding source information. I am not required to enter my credit card or bank information after logging into those services. Since Paypal refuses to enforce the security they advertise, I am closing my Paypal account. ... It's been 5 days with only one response. I can only assume people do not have information relevant to the question. My guess is these companies are attempting to circumvent the charges accompanied with using Paypal as a payment provider. ... View more

You are misunderstanding me. My credit card is on file with Paypal. My credit card is set as the preferred payment method. These companies are requesting I enter my credit card information on their Paypal interface after I have already used their interface to log into Paypal. The only link available on the interface is to cancel the intended transaction and return to the original website. I should not need to enter anything after I have logged into Paypal. Their request defeats the purpose of using Paypal to protect my funding source information. I want to know why this is happening and if I can stop it here at Paypal. ... View more

I've noticed certain businesses are requesting I enter my credit card information after I have logged into Paypal using their Paypal interface. I have logged into Paypal using my credentials. This has validated my identity. Why are they requesting information already on Paypal? ... View more

This may necro an old topic, but I thought it worth mentioning for helping others seeking such help...   In California, we use the Board of Equalization. I'm not sure of your state, so it may have a different, but similar name. It is a resource for all state entrepreneurs. Sole Proprietors, Corporations, etc. There are several self help articles on tax responsibilites, ethical business practices, steps to build and maintain your business, e-Commerce(the OP's business). It's basically a DIY website with phone support and requested oversight, free of charge. It is worth a look, in my opinion. Most states use the words Board of Eqaulization. ... View more
