I've had the same PayPal account for fifteen years, just over one year ago I removed the bank account details from PayPal I'd had registered with them throughout that time as I was intending to move to another bank. That move never materialised and my account has been operating without a bank account registered to it since. After a few months I tried to add the same bank account back on to my PayPal account, but when I tried it gave me "we don't recognise the device you're using" message (I'm on a laptop running Windows and Firefox???) and saying I'd need to provide verification. I didn't have time to mess round with a phone call or whtever at that time, so left it until "later", and promptly forgot all about it. So, to the present. The other day I remembered there was no bank account linked to my PayPal account, so I went to try and add one, and while I was in my account decided to update some other details that needed doing as well - obsolete email addresses, phone numbers etc, Anyhow, I changed my primary phone number, then added another new one, and left one of the ones that was there already, which although not currently in service, I hope will be again in the future. I then went to try and add the bank account, got the same "we don't recognise the device you're using" message and saying I needed to provide verification. Fair enough, I went to go through that procedure. Firstly I was only offered the chance to verify by receiving a phone call from the drop down menu, which I accepted, then it only gave me the choice of receiving that call at only one of my three listed numbers - the one that is not currently in service. In other words, a dead end. So, I figures, maybe the two numbers I'd just amended/added hadn't had time to be logged on the system, and I'd leave it a couple of days and try agin. Well, now is that couple of days, and I've just tried again to add my bank account details, and nothing has changed. Firstly it says "we don't recognise the device you're using" message and invites to provide verification, which I try to do. Again, just offered the choice of receiving a phone call, and when I accept that, it again just offers me the chance to receive that call at the one currently out of service number I have on my profile, not any of the two I amended/added a couple of days ago, which are both active. I've tried to delete the currently inactive number from my profile to "force" the system to offer me one or both of the other numbers, but it won't let me remove it, all I get is an error message suggesting I "try again later". So, I'm stuck, it'll only let me verify by receiving a phone call, and will only let me receive that call at a number which doesn't currently exist, and which I can't remove from my profile. Where do we go from here?
