I recently purchased some high end headphones off of ebay. I won the bid on the 12th and immediately paid with paypal as soon as the auction ended. I paid through the supposed "instant transfer" and the funds were deducted from my bank account. The seller did not ship the item right away as I request, and then on the 15th I received an e-mail from Paypal stating that my money has been refunded. I was fine with that originally until I looked at my account later that night to see that although the refund said "complete", another transaction as a "temporary hold' was placed on the money right after the refund was done. The note says to wait 3-5 business days for your bank to clear the original payment, which I full understand. Although I paid "instantly" with my bank account, the payment didn't technically clear until the 14th. So taking that into account, if it cleared the 14th I should already be looking at my refund. If I take into consideration that the refund may have actually been processed and refunded on the 15th, instead of being processed on the 14th and posted on the 15th, then I would still have received my money today the 18th. The 4th-5th day are always buffer zones to cover themselves in rare cases, I've seen a bank transaction that has exceeded the three day limit to clear. And of course I know nothing is going to take place on the weekend, so when am I ever going to receive my OWN money?! Which brings up my second question; from what a representative told me on the phone earlier the money will only be posted to my paypal account after all this waiting. Am I going to have to turn around and wait another 3-5 days to transfer this back into my back account from paypal or is it going to be placed back. I read a note saying it would go back to the card, but I'm not too sure about anything I read on here anymore.
