I have a building society account with the Cheshire Building Society in Crewe, Cheshire, UK. I have had the account for nearly 10 years and don't wish to change it. To add funds to this account (electronic transfers like BACS etc...), the sender has to supply the following information; Sort code Account number Reference number My building society does not have it's own 'bank' accounts as such, but Barclays bank holds all of their accounts for them. So, if a payment is sent without the reference number, the monies sit in a holding account for some time and then eventually get returned to sender. To verify my Paypal account using the Paypal form, there is no option for the reference number. Without adding this reference number, any payments made to me will not reach my 'bank' account and so I will not be able to confirm the 2 amounts deposited to me by Paypal. Because I cannot get these 2 deposit figures, I cannot verify my account using the online form, nor by faxing the relevant documentation to you. I am also unable to list eBay auctions as I require Paypal verification. However, money is TAKEN from my account when purchasing. I have also received 2 refunds to my credit card, via Paypal, without any problems. Why cannot I just use my card for all purchases and sales, and provide proof for the card instead of an account I don't want to use for buying/selling? How should I proceed?
