I bought an item on ebay using paypal. I did not use a paypal account balance or echeck, I used a creditcard to buy the item. Anyways, there was a malfunction with the item so I returned it for a full refund. The seller was more than happy to give me my refund. Since I used paypal for the process of paying for the item, the refund was sent back through there. I received an email from paypal services saying that the seller has given me the full refund. I then logged into my paypal account but I dont see any activity / history or transaction showing me that a refund has been issused. I know that the money will not be sent to my paypal account balance because I used a creditcard to buy the item. The money will have to be credited back to my creditcard. But I was just wondering why cant I see any alerts or messages on my paypal page telling me that a refund or a transaction has been made back to me? I know I used a creditcard, but I went through paypal to buy the item, so shouldnt paypal tell me that they received the refund and will be given back to my card? Am I right to ask this question or am I missing something? And a follow up question- How long does it take for my creditcard to be credited with the refund?

Hey Andy, Okay so recently bought an item on ebay through Paypal. I used a creditcard to do so. Anyways, there was a malfunction with the item so I returned it for a full refund. The seller was more than happy to do so. Once he received the item that I returned he then gave me a full refund. And since I bought the item with a creditcard using Paypal, he returned the refund back to paypal. I know that the creditcard will be credited with the refund but what I want to know is why can't I see any history or activity transaction on my paypal account to show that a refund has recently been done? There is no alerts, no history showing that a refund has been issed. I know a used a creditcard and not an account balance, but since i did go through paypal to buy the item, shouldnt I atleast see some sort of alert or history showing me that I received a refund back to my card? And a follow up question, how long or whats the avarege time it takes for my creditcard to be credited with the refund? If you could help me out with this, i'd appreciated. thanks.

I recently returned an item back to the seller for a full refund. I bought the item on Ebay using Paypal. Once the seller received the item, he then refunded my money back to paypal because thats what I used to buy the item. Paypal then sent me an email stating that the seller has given me my full refund. I logged in to my paypal account but I dont see any history or activity or transactions being done to show that my money has been refunded. I didnt use a paypal balance to pay for my purchase, I used a creditcard. I know that the money will be refunded back to my card rather than to my paypal account, but I want to know why I can't see some sort of activity/history being done or proof to show that paypal acknowledge the refund from seller. Shouldnt paypal have some sort of alert to tell me that a refund has recently been issused? I have zero alerts, and zero history in my transactions. I dont get it, and again I know that the credit card will be the thing being credited, but since I used Paypal to buy the item, shouldnt paypal have some sort of acknowledgement to show that a refund has been done? But anyways, how long does it take for my bank statement to change? Whats the avarege time till my refund appears on my bank statement?
