Why is PayPal blocking two incoming payments from ...

Had two sales on eBay - Friday and Sunday. One buyer did a BIN on Friday and paid that day - but the hourglass in eBay is still there 3 days later, the status is still "PayPal transaction pending" and when I click on "View the PayPal transaction" it tells me it's an invalid number and throws me into the login for PayPal. The next one is a bidder who won an auction Sunday and paid right away (I contacted her to verify she had paid, and she had). That status is the same as above, but shows it initiated it on Sunday. WTH??? My PayPal account does not show anything at all related to these two sales on eBay. It seems to be completely in the dark about funds that are SUPPOSED TO BE THERE.   I called eBay and they told me that PayPal is the roadblock with both of these transactions. I cannot ship the items until these payments are accepted by PayPal and the "pending transaction" statuses are marked "paid" by eBay. Since one buyer paid on Friday, I would normally have shipped on Saturday, but of course I couldn't because PayPal is clueless about that sale - so now that buyer is already not going to be happy, much less if I can't ship tomorrow!!   I have never encountered this in years of selling. When a customer pays, the dollar-sign "paid" icon appears in dark blue in the "items sold" console, and I can go directly to PayPal and verify and print the shipping label. Now, my hands are completely tied. Why would this be happening with two transactions in a row, all of a sudden after NEVER having this problem? And of course, I can't reach anyone at PayPal tonight when I was finally able to reach an eBay CSR (who then told me to call PayPal). So now, in addition to having a very busy Tuesday due to the holiday weekend, I get to figure out how to spend time on the phone with PayPal.   NOT HAPPY - and eBay better remove any bad feedback I get due to this snafu! ...
