I had the same. All I was able to do (item was send to the US) was file a fraud with the FBI. Of course, this didn't bring me back the money or item, but it felt good filing that person officially as a scammer. Maybe there is a similar institution in EU? If the people doing such things get in trouble when applying for a credit card or anything because they have something like this filed against them, they may stay away from that in the future..
