At 3:08pm I received an email from Paypal noting 4 transactions had just been processed. I logged in to my account and discovered that they were to an email address I've never seen before (@bytedance.com - "TikTok Inc") and the currency was in Brazilian Real (something I've never used before, and from a country I've never bought anything from).
I raised a dispute on these transactions at 6:14pm but the dispute was swiftly closed with "Based on our review, we found this transaction is consistent with your PayPal payment history. As a result, we've closed this case."
How is it consistent with my history if I've never had anything to do with the company, email, or currency? I use PayPal infrequently, and have only used it to buy something once this year.
