In December I opened a dispute through my financial institution, which handles PayPal credit, for an item not received. Later the seller contacted me and we resolved the issue and I was sent the item. I informed PayPal credis Bank of this and also PayPal. Then when the time came I received the item and found it didn't match my expectations, and the seller honored the return. I realize I should have assumed PayPal would mess something up but that ship has sailed so I went and returned the item. As it turns out, the bank took until February to release the funds back to the seller, but according to the seller, which I'm inclined to believe bc the case is still showing on PayPal as "under review" , the funds were never actually released to the seller. Now I have neither the unwanted product nor the money refunded, so I owe the full amount to PayPal credit for nothing . I've called both PayPal customer service and PayPal credit customer service and both tell me to call the other. PayPal credit (synchrony bank) insists they released the funds to PayPal and notified PayPal the issue was resolved. Again, I owe the money to the bank but don't have a product (which I didn't want anyway so just want the refund). Any advice would be appreciated including who are above PayPal that I can appeal to. Thank you in advance.
