I tried to register a Yubikey as a means of 2FA to my PayPal account and could not get it to work on Safari on a MacBook Pro running MacOS Monterey. When I connected the Yubikey and touched the gold disk in the center it was not recognised by the web interface. When I called the customer support line to get help I was informed that Paypal does not support Yubikeys as a means of 2FA. I know I've used a Yubikey in the past but, as others have found, only one Yubikey is allowed and you cannot add a backup. I've since had to close my account when I moved from the US to the UK, and open a new (UK) account. Since then Paypal have added support for passkeys so maybe this broke Yubikey functions or Paypal have quietly dropped Yubikey support. Has anybody got information about this?
