I sent someone money through PayPal a few months ago and I never disputed the transaction with PayPal or my bank, yet out of nowhere, PayPal opened a dispute case yesterday, claiming that the dispute was filed with my bank and that it is out of their hands. I never filed any dispute and my bank has no record of a dispute being filed on that transaction. The bank can't cancel the dispute case since in their system, there is no dispute case, yet PayPal claims they can't close the case because it was filed with the bank.
Has anyone experienced anything like that or does anyone have any idea what might be going on?
