I tried to cash a check with the PayPal app. It had me take a picture of the front of the check and then take one of the back. Once they approved the check, they said to write void on the check and then submit a photo of the check with void written on it. Once I did this step, PayPal denied/refused the check. I followed all of the instructions exactly as directed. Yet they refused it. It was for my paycheck in the amount of $4,982.00. I can't afford to wait for the company that contracted me to issue, cut, and mail another check to me. I need the money from the check to fund my next project that I've been contacted for. Need this resolved asap. Please advise.

This exact issue literally just happened to me about 30 minutes ago. I even tried using a Sharpie pen (not the marker) and traced over where I wrote VOID. Hoping it would help the situation. Unfortunately I continue to be denied. The first two steps of scanning the front and back of the check worked just fine. This was a weeks pay, written to me by company who contracted me for the weeks worth of work. It's for $4,982.62. So it's not like a check for a few hundred, that I'd be able to wait a few weeks for the company to issue, cut the check, and mail it to me. It's needed to fund a part of my next project I'll be contacted for. Companies only pay a 1/3 up front. This is unacceptable on PayPal's behalf. They're a MASSIVE company with HUGE profits. This should be an easy issue to fix. Seeing that it shouldn't have happened to being with.
