sorry for extra bother. I found under profile settings, "close account". pressing it produces a whole page sized error message, without proposal of what to try next. here's my guess: the site seems to be really bothered about the missing "state" information (which I can't input) and in every turn the site gives me a huge pop-up: "We need more info about you and your business". I am assuming this is causing the site not register such action as close account. any suggestions?
