Sorry to hear about the negative balance in your account. If a payment was paid by bank, a payment to your seller completes instantly because we fund this on customer's behalf and wait for a bank transaction to clear which usually takes 5-7 Business days. If the transfer fails or your bank declines your transfer the first time, we will try to retrieve the money a second time. If the second attempt also fails, we try to debit the amount from your back up funding source. What would have happened is, your bank transfer might have failed and when we tried for the second time we were unable to get the funds from your back up funding source which resulted your account to go negative. If the amount gets debited from your bank account, the balance wouldn't go negative. I would recommend you to contact your bank to get the status of the debited charges reflecting in your account and also review the transaction details in your activity page. If the negative balance still reflects after few days, you can add money to resolve it.
