Good afternoon paypal community. A buyer recently reached out to me regarding a listing I had on Facebook Marketplace. The listing was titled "Zeiss Distagon 35mm F2.0 ZF lens for Nikon F Mount". The listing also included clear photos showing the lens, including markings showing the model. This was listed as local pickup only, but he asked if I would be willing to ship and I agreed. Buyer payed via PayPal and titled the payment "Zeiss ZF 35 f2 lens. Facebook Marketplace". Item was shipped via UPS that day and tracking provided to buyer and updated in paypal. Now the buyer has messaged me saying "sorry to do this but I just realized that I was looking for the ZF.2 version. I assumed all Nikon versions were the ZF.2s. I would like to cancel the purchase and ask for a refund." I kindly explained to the buyer that for liability reasons I don't accept returns due to buyers remorse. The buyer is now stating that he is going to refuse the shipment, and that "per paypal protection policy if I don't accept it, I will get my money back, I will win the dispute." and "I called PayPal and they confirmed if I refuse the package I will win the dispute." I have screenshots of the listing, our Facebook messenger conversation, and the photos used in the listing, but I want to know if the buyer can actually refuse a shipment due to buyers remorse and get a refund? Also looking for any advice on how to best prepare if the buyer does file a claim. Thank you for your time!
