The verification/authentication system wants to send a code to my phone, but it is including full area code when doing so (which is incorrect with international format). However, when I try to change my profile from my local phone to the interntional equivalent, it is not recogizing this as a valid number. To give you examples, international format of AU phone numbers is: +61 4 xxxx xxxx. The first digit of the Australian area code for mobiles 04 is omitted in international formats. However, the authentication system is trying to use +61 04 xxxx xxxx. This is incorrect, it is an invalid phone number format. Local mobile number format in AU is 04 xxxx xxxx. This is also the only format allowed when setting up a phone number on user profile in PayPal. So there is a conflict. Either your authentication system needs to properly convert local numbers and drop the first 0 digit when converting local to international format; or your user profile has to be modified to allow international formatting as an option for storing phone numbers.
